Diamantina is another city in Minas Gerais. Full
of history and mystery which attracts thousands
of tourists that come to visit the churches, the
big houses, the religious and popular festivities.
“Vesperata” – this is a concert
that the musicians play from the Salconies which
attracts tourists from around the world.
Different from the others golden centers, the
city is divided between the rivers Sao Francisco
and Jequitinhonha. The city had in the diamonds
the base of the economy. Because of this it is
considered the big pole of Diamond cycle.
This is the birth city of Chica da Silva the
slave that became a queen. Juscelino Kubitscheck
the President of Brazil, was born there, with
him Brazil grow “50 years in 5 years”.
